You want to be careful when you’re looking at investing in what are known as “sin stocks”. These are companies that are active in things like alcohol, guns, and tobacco. Throughout my career, I have invested in all three.

Why?

I’m in the stock market to make money. Politics are of secondary concern. I follow and act in response to market trends and decisions - I don’t try to steer them.

So when this company fell significantly over a year ago, I started investing. And I haven’t stopped investing in it since now having built my position to almost 2% of my total portfolio.
